Fit Principles (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is built and operated by Samuel Orcutt. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using Fit Principles, you agree to this policy.
You can create an account with an email address and password, or with Sign in with Apple. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address (which may be a private Apple relay email). We use this only to create and authenticate your account.
You provide your sex, age, height, starting weight, target weight, and target body-fat percentage during onboarding. This is used to compute your basal metabolic rate (BMR) and personalize your dashboard targets.
With your explicit permission, the app reads the following from Apple Health:
This data is read on-device with your permission and uploaded only to your own private, authenticated account in our database (Google Firebase), so your dashboard and daily targets work across your devices.
We never share Apple Health (HealthKit) data with any third party. It is never sent to Google Gemini or any other AI service, never sold, never used for advertising or marketing, and never used for data mining. It is used solely to provide the app’s features. You can revoke access at any time in Apple Health → Profile → Privacy → Apps → Fit Principles.
When you log a meal — by text, voice, photo, barcode, or manual entry — the app stores the meal name, calories, protein, and timestamp in your private user account.
Some features use Google Gemini, a third-party AI service operated by Google, to analyze information you provide. The app asks for your explicit permission before any of this data is sent, and nothing is sent unless you agree.
What is sent, and when:

Google processes this input and returns a result (food name, calories, protein, or a body-fat estimate). We do not retain the raw audio or photos after processing — only the resulting entry is saved to your account.
This data is used only to produce your result. It is not used to train AI models, not sold, and not shared with anyone else. Apple Health data is never included. See Google’s privacy practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
You can decline AI processing and still use the app by entering food manually.
When you scan a product barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts, an open food database, to look up that product’s nutrition. No personal information about you is sent — only the product barcode. See https://world.openfoodfacts.org/.
If you purchase a subscription, payment is handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous user identifier and your subscription state — never your payment details. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore database and Firebase Authentication), operated by Google Cloud. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to your authenticated account; no other user can read your data.

The app uses the following third-party services. We have reviewed each provider’s terms and confirmed that they offer protection of your data equal to or greater than that described in this policy. Each has its own privacy policy:
Apple Health (HealthKit) data is not shared with any of these third parties.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the app:
Tap the logo menu → Delete account → confirm.
This immediately and permanently erases your account and everything in it — your profile and goals, weight and body-fat history, meal logs, and energy data — from our servers, along with your login credentials. It cannot be undone. You may also email samuelorcutt1998@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my account” and we will permanently delete your account and all associated records within 30 days.
Note: your subscription is billed by Apple, not by us. Deleting your account does not cancel it — cancel your subscription in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.
Apple Health data remains in your Apple Health app regardless of what you do in Fit Principles. Revoking the app’s access in Apple Health does not delete the underlying data.
Fit Principles is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
